I purchased the Yard Butler Roto Digger 30-Inch Long 1.75-Inch Diameter #RD-2 to use it for something it was not meant to be used for. I'm building a pool house and the location of the front door has changed. I had to crawl under the pool house and dig 2 holes that needed to be 8"X8"24" deep. This needed to be done in a 2 foot tall work area. My plan was to use the Roto Digger. I ended up using something else but the Roto Digger was tough. Held together dig after dig in red clay type soil. I'd recommend this product and plan on using it again when I start planting bulbs. Top to learn more

Power Tools Meets Gardening
I bought this router because I wanted to plant 200+ bulbs. It works well, even in clay, for digging holes. Be careful with the 24 inch router because it might be too large for your job. I found that it worked best to start digging holes for larger plants. I couldn't space the holes as close as I wanted for the bulbs because of the 2.75 inch diameter. The smaller 1.75 one would probably be best for bulbs. I inserted the router into a hammer drill (extra handle gives great leverage for tough clay). The router slipped out once from the drill but only because I hit a few big rocks. It will cut through small roots if the drill it is attached to is strong enough.

With this auger in a Dewalt cordless drill, my wife and I planted 60 lily and Jonquil bulbs in less than 45 minutes. The auger worked well. Very pleased with the purchase.

I purchased this to plant tulip bulbs. I was able to plant 100 bulbs in a couple of hours. The drill held the auger tight and the construction of the planter blades held even though I was drilling through rocky, clay soil.

Worked like a charm.....
We are a one toilet household. I don't think there's too many one toilet households in the USA anymore. It never proved a problem for us, we learned sharing many years ago. But, upon redoing our bathroom a few years ago, we purchased a low flow toilet because that was the only choice we had. Never experiencing clogged toilets, until the low flow purchase, we didn't put much thought into our toilet purchase. Well, the darn thing clogs often! And, just about every time a certain family member uses it. No problem, get out the plunger & plunge...plunge...plunge. It always worked even though we could never get the plunger to seal; well, the plunger worked every time until this morning. So I told hubby I'd get online & search for another answer....we tried a bent coat hanger, didn't work, plunged a few more times, didn't work, used our other two plungers (one can never have enough plungers) neither of which worked, got online again, tried hot water & dish soap...of course that didn't work... Needs a design change
This bit will require you to grind a couple of sides FLAT before it will hold in your drill without slipping. You should use caution in rocky soil or area of roots. It is great to loosen the soil for planting of bulbs, it could do a better job of removing the dirt as you drill but look at the price. It is handy, and easy to use once you modify it. Awesome! Got the wife off my back :)
Our guest toilet was acting up, I went plunger-crazy on it, but that just seemed to make it worse. I read online that the vacuum suction of the plunger had probably jammed the obstruction. Off to Amazon and I ordered this (3 Ft one). This was about $20 cheaper than any of the local stores. With prime I got it in 2 days. Now, I've never had to use an auger before. This set came with very minimal instructions, but thats pretty much all you need to know. Run the plastic cover all the way down and turn/push. After that turn counter-clockwise and pull out slowly. Just be careful not to scratch anything. Its very simple to use, took me about 5 minutes to fix the toilet. Top to learn more

Great auger; solved the problem!
Got this at a locally (available at Lowe's), not wanting to wait for shipping to get it. Price was the same as Amazon. Performed very well...while a little tricky to get the auger to go down the pipe, a little turning (of the handle) and repositioning takes care of it. Pushed the auger down all the way twice, and it seemed whatever was clogging was loosened a little - toilet was draining faster.Finally, on the third attempt, the water rushed out and now the toilet works great again!This this is very easy to use - the plastic/PVC sheath works well both as a handle as a guide for how far to push down and pull up. The bend at the end of the sheath works great for positioning the tip into the bottom of the toilet...everything, in its simplicity, just worked. Also available was a 1/2 inch version of the same thing, but for 3X the price. While it felt a little "meatier" in terms of quality, it certainly wouldn't have been worth the extra money. We have a toilet that periodically backups up for no apparent reason. I stopped by my local Home Depot and asked someone in the plumbing department for advice and he suggested I try a toilet auger before calling a plumber. In particular, he handed me a . I thanked him, walked a couple aisles over, and did some quick online research with my phone. I saw the Cobra auger (this one) was 1/3 the price and had free shipping. I figured an auger is an auger (who hasn't heard that growing up?) and ordered the less expensive unit from Amazon.Turns out there are differences. Having held the $35 auger in the store and used this one I'm pretty certain the more expensive auger would do a much better job. I got the E43 powerhead & a 6" auger to put in about 80 fence posts on our property. I was impressed. I was pleased to find that there were lots of accessories for the Earthquake that are readily available and reasonably priced. I purchased a couple of 18" extensions and went to work drilling 5' deep ground-water monitoring wells for a guy who designs septic systems. We have drilled about 40 of these 5' deep X 6" holes. I suspected that this might be more than the machine was really designed for but the Earthquake turned out to be a fantastic tool for the job. I can often drill a 5' deep hole quicker than a tractor with a hydraullic auger can be maneuvered into position.Tips: The first time I started the engine took quite a few pulls but after that, it came to life and became easier to start. Do not set the auger down with the engine running, the exhaust is hot enough to instantly start a fire in dry grass. If you plan to drill very many holes, get extra cutting blades and... It does the job, worth the money, but not perfect
After renting a similar unit for $50/day, and having many holes to dig, I figured that it was worth $325 to buy one ($225 for the head, $100 for the drill... you need both). Assembly is easy, just one screw to attach the throttle. Add some 50:1 gas and it started after a couple pulls. Power is good, weight is good (not heavy!), and ergonomics are good (handles comfortable, exhaust blows away from you, as opposed to some other units where it blows in your face and 50:1 exhaust is horrid!). Drills have a built-in shock absorbing spring which really works.Only negatives are a kind of wimpy kill switch that occasionally you have to re-toggle to kill the engine, and the Chinese no-name engine/clutch which I expect will be harder to get repaired than eg. a Techumseh (while I don't forsee the near-term need for repairs, they are inevitable on this kind of equipment).I also considered the Ardisam 9000E, but am glad I chose the smaller (and less expensive) E43... Pleasantly surprised
When I purchased this auger I was a little scared that it was going to be too low horsepower to dig thru the hard dirt at my ranch. Luckily, I was wrong. I put an 8" bit on there, and it dug right thru that dirt with no problem at all. The bit did get hung up a few times, but just for a second - half of those times was when it hit a tree root, but it always kept going. The instruction manual states that the belts have to get broken in, and they may slip (this is probably what was happening). It says that the breaking period is about * 2 hours of use * and then it'll be at full power. That seems a bit extreme to me since it only took about 90 seconds for this thing to bore a 2' hole. I'd have to be using this a lot before I ever reached 2 hours of use, but luckily, even with the belts slipping a little it still did the job.The motor fired up almost instantly each time - even when it was brand new out of the box.
