Exactly as advertised
I'm an RA (Resident Assistant) in my University's Residence Halls. We need to put on five programs a semester in seven different categories; "community building" is supposed to be the easiest one. I couldn't think of what to do when suddenly a light went off in my head and I said "boondoggle!"...then my residents just gave me a very funny look because where I go to school they call it "lanyard." Either way, I needed a small amount of whatever you call it (Gimp, plastic lace, scoubidou?) to have enough for a few people, but not a bajillion. This was perfect for it!Although the item did not ship incredibly fast, it shipped within a normal and quite reasonable time frame. The plastic lace was just as I remembered it from my childhood and the last ten years teaching it to elementary school kids at camp (Oy vey!).Great product!

Great lace for crafting and kids!
This lace is definitely what I wanted it to be. There's a nice variety of colors in this pack, including two whites and two blacks. The extra basic colors are nice, as those tend to get used much more often. The included tool is surprisingly useful when you're first learning to do basic stitching and get the idea of how it works. However, it isn't really usable at all for more advanced stitches, as they do not all start out so basic. The hooks and rings found in the set were also very convenient for a beginner. Though the package only came with two circle rings, there were several more of the other style, great for making lanyards. The only thing that I don't like about this product is that the folds from the packaging stay in the product, which can make it a little hard to stitch. However, I didn't deduct any stars for this, as it is fairly standard in any brand. Overall, I was very pleased.

Great gift for kids with a knack for crafting
I ordered plastic lace pack this for my 10 years old little brother who loves to make arts and crafts. He was very happy with this gift and found it helpful to aid him in weaving or tying up some of his designs. The assorted colors were also a plus!Would definitely buy more in the future!

Receuved Today! Love It!
Thank You for the Rexlace Plastic Lacing 200 ft. Assort. Colors Kit I just received today.... I have already made a few items for my young relatives, Great Niece/Great Nephew. I tried to teach them how to braid the 'boondoggle' laces, but their attention span was too short, they are 8 and 6, and they like playing on the computer instead, but I finished zipper coats pulls for them and they really liked them. I had them pick out the color of laces they wanted their items made from, and finished up the zipper pulls for them. I love these cute little crafty things. I remember doing boondoggle when I was their ages, but we also didn't have any computers then :), but they were still thrilled when I made these special little, useful items for them anyway. The item is worth getting, and probably teens or tweens would love to make bracelets from these or necklaces, probably under 10 yrs. old is a little too young, as their attention spans aren't longer than 5 minutes. Get these fun crafty...

reweiw
i loved the scoubidou kit, most of the instructions were very easy and fun, my friend actually had this kit and brought it to summer camp so i made one and it looked so cool! If you want flat lace or lanyard this is not the book for you because the book came with round lace. The round lace is good for all the projects in the book, if you try it with flat lace it doesn't work! Once again or should I say the 6th or 7th time klutz has not disapointed me

Product Description

Scoubidou is plastic cord that is round, hollow and much more cooperative than yesterday's lanyard. The book Scoubidou comes with 120 feet of it, in six candy-bright colors and three different finishes (glow-in-the-dark, glitter and pearl). Enough scoubidou to make every project in the book: key chains, ponytail holders, fancified flip-flops, bracelets and more. The book comes with all the extras you'd expect from Klutz: a stylish assortment of beads, lanyard clips and key rings; super-clear instructions and art; fresh, fun photography and bold, bright graphics.

Comes With: 20 feet each of 6 color of scoubidou ( glow-in-dark sky blue, glow-in-the dark orange, pearl ocean blue, pearl green, glitter pink, glitter purple) 30 plastic beads in various sizes and colors, 2 key rings, 4 large lanyard clips, 4 small lanyards clips

Fun Projects, but cheap materials
I bought this book for my 8 year old step daughter, remembering how much fun I had making lanyards at her age. The book is fine and has great instructions, but the actual lanyard that comes with thebook was pretty cheap and snapped several times when pulling the knots tight. Also it the lace is rounded, not flat like the lace I remember. The round tubing was more difficult to work with. I would suggest buying this product, but definately don't bother getting the extra scoubidou stuff from Klutz, go to Micheals and buy your own lanyad lace that will b echeaper and much better quality for the rest of your projects.

Very Good, But Could Be Better
I love crafts but am not the best at learning by reading instructions (I learn by doing), and this book was wonderfully clear and easy to follow. When I can't get something right, I am relentless and won't stop until I get it, which is incredibly frustrating, so the clear instructions were of utmost importance. Great pictures, diagrams, is spiral-bound so stays open, but...a little more creativity in types of projects would be nice. Too much jewellery (several different kinds of bracelets make up the few projects) but the adjustable lanyards and wrapped pen and leash (decorates your pen and gives it a good grip, and the leash is a lanyard that can attach to your notebook or clipboard) make it worthwhile. The accessories are pretty (glitter, glow, pearl, etc.). I believe the round scoubi (included) is truly better for the projects listed in this book, as many projects simply work better and look much better with scoubi than flat lace.If you want to do other types of...

BUY Scoubidou: A Book of Lanyard & Lacing (Klutz)

Buy Boondoggle

They come right back to us. So anything we can do to prevent houses that are going to flood from being built sounds to me like pretty good public policy. Because guess where they go when that house floods.

The government boondoggle called the Chevy Volt is just another example of Obama forced green energy initiative gone haywire. Just give the public a quality product at a fair price and they will buy it. That is capitalism not forced socialism. People would buy this vehicle willingly without government incentive. It is a well designed efficient vehicle that offers the motorist sensible range at a fair price. The Volt is another failed Obama initiative to destroy capitalism. An example of a privately researched and developed battery operated vehicle that SELLS is the Toyota Prius.

The Hiawatha Line light rail boondoggle, which cost about $800 million to build (and remember, it costs “us” $57 million per year to subsidize), only has 17,000 households already living within a half-mile of stations, and only a few thousand more... Did I, like so many others in my neighborhood, buy or rent a short walk from a permanent train platform for the easy 15-minute ride downtown or 10-minute ride to the airport. Osmek to say nothing about the fact that is costs just $700 million to build a single new bridge across the St. Croix River to serve a St. Croix County, Wisconsin population of 84,000 spread sanely across 736 square miles, well that is brilliant. Combine that with Mr. Omsek’s calculation that combining the annual operating subsidy and the annual amortized build-out cost of light rail in Minnesota totals nearly a quarter billion dollars. I fill up my beloved SUV with gas just once a month in the summer, saving approximately $150 per month versus topping it off weekly because I simply don’t need to drive as much (not to mention the cost of the vehicle itself and repairs, which I... It is good he didn’t mention the intrinsic link between transportation and housing, because the combined cost of housing and transportation is meaningless as long as we can drive for free. I really shouldn’t “excercise” my freedom to walk, bike, or ride the train and just drive, baby, drive. None of this matters because the four train lines in the Twin Cities will one day cost us a quarter of a billion dollars per year. It is about time the Star Tribune finally came to its senses and printed a sane, sound critique of the boondoggle that is light rail. That’s chump change to us. And it will be free to drive on, so let’s put the top down and go for a drive. And the train itself only has 30,000 riders per day, just a hair more than portions of Hiawatha Avenue, which is free to drive on and runs parallel to the line. Come to think of it, he didn’t mention households at all, just the poor taxpayers propping up this excessive waste of money on light rail.
