Cat Nip Snobs
Hello,I purchased Kong Catnip to try something different. That may have been a mistake. My cats loved this stuff! However, here is the problem; when I ran out and purchased another brand (more in a tub & cheaper) and put it on their tennis balls, they ignored them. Their tennis balls have been sitting in the same place for 4 days with the cheaper cat nip on them. I have 3 Catnip Snobs! No, I don't run the house...it's theirs. I'm just their servent. This product page doesn't really say how much actual catnip you get. Under production dimensions, the weight is given as 3.4 ounces, while the shipping weight is only 3.2 ounces (makes you wonder what they don't ship you). On the package, the stated net weight is 1.0 ounces. I've purchased this item twice and the last time I weighted the catnip while it was still in the bag. My postal scale reported a disappointing 0.8 ounces. That's probably just a fluke, but it's disappointing none the less. Top to learn more

Cats love it (not really a surprise...)
This is a good amount of catnip, and looks fresh and green, but I wasn't totally surprised at how awesome it was or anything - it was just catnip.Only, I was keeping it in the bottom drawer of our desk and I had forgotten about it, since we still have other catnip. One day I noticed my cat was really enjoying his time under the desk, which is normally because there's a nice sunny spot under the drawers and he likes lounging in it. However, this time I heard him poking around back there, which was strange, but he's a strange cat, so I didn't really think much about it. Then at some point, I opened that drawer for something totally different (I had forgotten about the catnip) and found that somehow he had gotten his paw over the back edge of the drawer and OPENED THE BAG OF CATNIP. I guess he had gotten little bits in his paw and been satisfied with that. I was blown away. This is good stuff. Strange-Cat-Sam-approved. Top to learn more

Surprisingly good!
As soon as I brought the box containing this into the house my two cats started going nuts for it. They are both normally very reactive to catnip, so this was not surprise, but wouldn't leave the box alone, even after removing the nip from it (which is very unusual for them).It's not the most premium of catnips, but it is much, Much better than the ditchweed that comes with most cat scratchers, and the bag is a great size for the price. The bag is resealable, so it's easy to close shut and pop into the freezer to preserve freshness. I'd re-purchase when local vendors are out of stock for the season, for sure. Top to learn more

The cats REALLY loved this stuff.
I couldn't figure out whether to give this one or five stars. My cats would give it five. They found it after I'd gone to bed and had an all night rager catnip party on my living room floor. It's very hard to sweep catnip off of a floor with two cats around. When I tried to sequester them, I couldn't catch them - but then, as soon as I swept up a pile of it they ran towards it (and me) at top speed to dive into it. Brush the cat off, sweep the floor, brush the cat off, sweep the floor - you get the picture. Even the cat who doesn't really care for catnip was crazed.Anyway, if my cats' behavior is any indication, this is the real &#!@. Top to learn more

I got my kitten a cat tree to climb and he was very hesitant, so I got this and sprinkled some on each level of the tree... he is addicted to the tree now. He spends hours on it! KITTIES LOVES BANANAS!!!!
My 5 kitties love this banana! They literally wait in line to have a turn at it. While one is playing with the nanner, another is sitting on the floor next to him watching him make a fool of himself. So I'm buying a bunch. I will say it didn't last all that long but it got a LOT of use. They chewed the end thru after a couple of weeks. Not all the way thru but enough for catnip to get out on the floor which is fine by them. And it did get cruddy kinda fast because of all the cat slobber. But they do LOVE IT! What's in this thing, really?
I had barely started opening the envelope when my girls were doing figure eights around my feet, meering and sniffing madly. That should have been the first clue. I tossed the Yeeow! Banana in the air, and Charlie-the-Ragdoll leaped up to catch it. She was already bunny-kicking it on her way back down, and Maisy-the-Persian tackled her to take it away. These are the two mellowest, sweetest cats imaginable, going completely bananas (c'mon, you saw that coming) over this toy.For comparison, I bought them a Kickeroo two weeks ago. I love to hear the stories of how friends and coworkers cats react to my catnip.
Read the label of the products you buy and make sure you are getting 100 % catnip. If they have the gene that allows them to feel the pleasure catnip provides, they will be affected by it. The funny thing about catnip is that there is no positive explanation of why cats react so strongly for it. Even more interesting, not all cats actually love catnip. Catnip seeds can be purchased from most garden stores, alternatively you may prefer to buy from an online store. However, a cat is likely to chew the leaves, rub against and roll in the catnip, which can kill the plant. If you would like to be able to give your cat a little treat now and then, growing your own catnip couldn’t be easier. Although they love it fresh, it is impossible to have a supply of fresh catnip all year round. Almost all types of cat, from lions to your household kitty, love catnip. A small tip for catnip growth is that removing the shoots of the plant prompts thicker and bushier growth. Yes, according to some experts it is possible to give your cat too much catnip. Therefore, it is advisable to only offer your cat catnip once a week. After the catnip has dried out, it is advisable to place it into airtight containers, as this will help to keep it fresh throughout the autumn and winter months.
