I used to HATE this gel!!! Now I LOVE it!!!
I HATED this gel back when I used to style my hair by twisting each strand around my fingers, (making me look like apoodle, what choice did I Have?).Then I booked a cut with Ana on a whim in Dec 08. Who knew a cut was that important. I've been to another curly hair salon (am I allowed to name? Ouid*d in NYC).I hated the result. At Devachan, I was TAUGHT how to use the products and it's changed my ritual. I truly thought only I knew how to style my hair (naturally, after all my hair disasters).Now, I style with One Condition (yes, it can be used as a styler! How cool is that!). I put it in my soaking wet hair & then scrunch the water out the sides with a men's wife beater. Then flip my hair upside down & scrunch water out, especially @ the roots so I don't have flat head. Then I SCRUNCH this gel INTO my hair, first the sides then back then over the outside of hair. This is the 1st time I ever wore hair products where I didn't saturate my hair and wait...

The Only Fancy Hair Product I Need
A lot of other curly hair product lines require that you use their special shampoo, their special conditioner, their special gel, their special leave-in conditioner, etc. in order for your hair to look good (and each of these things can cost $20 or more). I've tried a lot of different products for my thick, unruly, curly hair and nothing has worked better than DevaCare Arc Angell. I can use whatever shampoo and conditioner I want--including the cheap stuff from the drug store--and as long as I follow with Arc Angell my hair looks great! Even better is that my hair isn't sticky, nor does it have that plastic hair gel look to it. It looks natural and soft.

An amazing tool in fighting frizz and controlling curls
I love this stuff! The trick (as I learned it at the DevaChan salon here in New York) is to use it in the shower, then put more on your hair as a leave-in while your hair is still sopping wet. You then flip your head and scrunch in some Angell. Take a t-shirt or microfiber towel and scrunch a lot of the moisture out of your hair, then scrunch in some more Angell. My hair comes out perfectly every day, and the best part is that these products are water-soluble so there is no fear of buildup. Love it, love it, love it.

The Best Conditioner You Will Ever Use!!
I found out about this product from a woman with curly hair and doubted that it would work on my hair, which is really curly, dry, and tangled. However after using this product once I have no doubts in its ability to leave my hair super soft and managable. I recommend leaving the conditioner one under a plastic shower cap for at least 30 minutes, in order to let it really penetrate super kinky hair.DevaCurl One Condition, 32 oz.

Love this conditioner
I do not use shampoo and have used this conditioner for over two years. It leaves my hair curly, shiny and soft. I swim every day in a chlorinated pool and I love the results I get from this conditioner. The price of this stuff, however, makes my husband's hair curl...

Great shampoo for curls and volume
I was using the NO POO for weeks when my hair started to feel "gunky"....My scalp felt coated with sebumand I didn't feel that NO POO was getting my scalp clean enough...Eventually, my hair started feeling likeI was putting hand lotion on it, instead of shampoo.Deva Curl is a whole protocol that is enhanced by using their conditioner and styling products for the full effect of getting perfect curls. I had a Deva Curl haircut...but the curls were starting to look weird and frizzed out.I started hating the haircut but my stylist told me to switch to LOW POO for awhile...and only use NO POOonce a week..As soon as I switched to LOW POO, I loved my haircut again..I got a cleaner scalp and cleaner hair and more curls and bounce and better shine.I think the NO POO built up on my scalp and weighed down my hair and made the condtioner and styling gel too sticky..LOW POO is the perfect rotation shampoo for people who...

This is wonderful -- just as good as Wen, lower price

While it feels really wierd to shampoo my hair with zero lather, this is a great product. I usually have really frizzy, wavy hair, and using the Deva Curl products has revealed beautiful, defined curls! Best hair product for curly friizzy hair!
My hairdresser introduced this to me about 1.5 years ago, and the line is fabulous. The "DevaCurl Set It Free Mist" is amazing, my hair has never looked softer and the curls are better then ever. Also recommend the "DevaCurl Set Me Up!" (sold separately) for super frizz control, as a finisher.

The best stuff for curly hair ever
This is the best stuff ever for curly hair. Most shampoos for curly hair contain sulfates like all the rest of the shampoos. But sulfates dry out curly hair and take the curl right out of it. After a couple weeks of using Deva Curl - your hair takes on a whole new look. Love it......

A good try-it kit
If you are interested in finding the best products for your curly hair, give this set a try. The DVD was informative, however, according to it, my hair type (fine, very wavy) requires "low-poo," not the no-poo shampoo contained in this kit. Wish this information was as clearly provided elsewhere! I prefer Kiss My Face Whenever shampoo, which is also SLS-free.My favorite products are the "let it free" curl enhancing spray, which I would definitely purchase again; and oddly, the brown clips, which I at first thought were a throw-away item, but turned out to be the best! I can't find similar clips anywhere, so I will order those again separately.

smells lovely, reduces frizz
I don't use the entire line of Devacurl products (but have tried most of them.) The only one I continue to purchase is Set it Free moisture spray. I use this in tandem with Bumble and Bumble's Tonic spray, and let my hair air dry naturally. I have fine hair with soft waves. If you have coarser or thicker hair, you may need more frizz control then what this offers. However, this allows me to create soft, non-crunchy, "beachy-looking" waves and curls. And the smell is fantastic! If it's particularly humid outside, I use a leave-in frizz serum as well to keep the curls smooth.
