Excellent Blend
Lavazza is a great Italian brand name and the Crema e Gusto blend is a fairly new introduction to the Lavazza catalog. I first tried the Crema e Gusto in Europe and quickly became addicted! I packed my suitcase full when I came home and it was worth the effort. All of the Lavazza blends are excellent, but this blend is particularly special- it is very smooth and rich with virtually no bitterness at all. I brew it in a stove-top espresso maker and it's absolutely perfect every time. Top to learn more

My favorite coffee. Very rich and full flavored.
One taste was all it took for me. I tried Lavazza at a local coffee house in Denver and really enjoyed the taste. No bitterness at all. Very full flavored coffee.I came across this as the word "Crema" caught my eye. Now I am ordering it using the subscribe and save. It is running me $17.41 for every order and that's with free 2 day shipping because of the Prime Membership. Each brick lasts about 10 days for 2 people drinking 6 cups of coffee every morning. I use 1 tablespoon coffee for every 6 ounces of water brewed in a Target Michael Graves design automatic drip coffeemaker. The "Flavor" button really brings it out in this coffee. I love my coffee with half and half and it really seems to compliment it well. The packages are vacuumed sealed and take up very little space. It really is a 5 star coffee. Top to learn more

With Lavazza it's all about the blend
Lavazza coffee is wonderful but the different blends are, well, different. I really like the Caffe Espresso because of the heavier slightly bitter/strong but also slightly chocolaty-sweet taste and the aroma. I use a Mocha/stovetop espresso pot so that makes a different kind of brew too.Caffe espresso is 100% Arabica beans as is Oro. I find the latter a bit rougher/stronger. Then, the wise folks at Lavazza start blending in Robusto beans and for those of you that like super smooth, less bitter you need to try these... Crema e Gusto is at the farthest end of the spectrum - 70% Robusto 30% Arabica and dark roasted (usually they make a medium roast I think), super creamy, nice as Americano or a straight, milder espresso, me I don't think it stands up as a cappuccino. Next in line is Crema e Aroma - 60% Robusto. I haven't had this in years. Middle ground? That's Rossa with its 30% Robusto and 70 Arabica...this might be my favorite as espresso. There's a few other...

Are you kidding me?
I'm reading the other reviews and I'm quite shocked!!!This is absolutely one of the best commercial coffee blends you can find out there. not too bitter not to sweet, excellent crema, delightful!I have a Gaggia espresso machine, I drink it every morning and occasionally make cappuccino to my guests, they all L-O-V-E it.Warmly recommended, light years better than the sour-greasy-burnt American coffee (Starbucks, Seattle's Best, Peet's etc...)

Mmmm.
I've been buying Illy Medium Roast espresso and decided to try something new. Lavazza is the winner! I have been ordering it from Amazon for months now. The 4-pack is a great deal. Nice flavor, not too bold or bitter, even a little sweet? Perhaps I am not equipped to describe it as a coffee connoisseur, but I do know it makes my mornings a little better!

Like I was back in Tuscany, but also makes great American coffee
I want to start by addressing the people giving low ratings because the beans aren't "oily" enough. If you've ever had a real espresso, one made by a licensed barista in Italy, you'd know that espresso beans aren't oily; they're not even usually that dark. If you see black beans, you're going to get a bitter cup of coffee no matter how you make it. It is the fresh grinding process and pressurized steam that make espresso so dark and strong in the cup, not burnt beans! This coffee is used in the great majority of Italian households and restaurants; I think most of the bars use a different brand but some of the ones I frequented around Florence used Lavazza. I can tell you from first-hand experience that when you order an espresso in Italy, the barista doesn't get beans that look black...that only happens at Starbucks where they don't care about the coffee being bitter because, as these low-star reviewers prove, a lot of American coffee drinkers wouldn't know how coffee is supposed to... Great crema
This is a great bean for a semi-automatic machine. We have a Jura-Capresso and adjust it to a fine grind with this bean. The beans produce an espresso with a thick crema and a smooth, almost chocolaty ending. This brand can be found at coffee shops all over Italy and Europe in general. Top to learn more

Great for Cap
I have recently tried "Lavazza Tierra! Espresso 100% Arabica " which is great but a little too mild for me. I make cappuccino, not espresso, and the SuperCrema is better for this. It does have more caffeine then the pure Arabica Tierra and is more robust, more body and much more crema. Actually, on the few occasions that I do have espresso I would lean to the Tierra as it is lighter. I use a Pasquini Livia Auto. My vote is SuperCrema for Cap and Tierra for espresso (Tierra if you just want less caffine and a lighter full flavor). So, get both. Here at Amazon the price is great. Top to learn more
The Lavazza super crema, whole bean, 2.2 pound bag are a premium blend of 80% sweet arabicas and 20% robustas producing a rich, intense flavor with a thick espresso crema that holds up well in cappuccinos and lattes. Super crema can also be used with all other brewing methods for an extremely rich, flavorful coffee. Top to learn more

Excellent coffee
I used to grind Crema e Gusto beans in a grinder and use it in a $700 Gaggia semi-automatic espresso machine. After losing the best espresso machine ever made (for $700) to a divorce, I've invested in a $20 stovetop Bialetti and use pre-ground Crema e Gusto. In both machines the coffee is excellent. Full-bodied, smooth, never bitter (unless you leave the Bialetti on the stove for too long and come back to a melted handle and rubber gasket). Excellent coffee. Top to learn more

A Rich, Smooth Cup of Espresso...
I purchased this espresso brick for my mother who loves coffee, especially espresso. While I am not very partial to coffee, my mother can be very picky with the quality of her coffee. The Lavazza Crema e Gusto turned out to be a very good gift for her. She loves it! According to her, the coffee comes out Rich and Full-Bodied, while also being very smooth. There is no bitterness at all to the coffee. She makes her espresso using a 3 cup Bialetti, which seems to do a good job getting the flavor out of the coffee grounds and into your cup.For the Espresso lover out there, while it may not be a premium cup of Espresso, the Lavazza Crema e Gusto Italian Espressoo Brick did not disappoint. You get excellent quality espresso for a fair price per cup ... 5 stars! Top to learn more

Lavazza in Afghanistan
I send coffee to my adopted Soldier. I tasted the Lavazza arabica in a black tin and I loved it. For this type of Lavazza it is "great Taste". Without coffee, soldiers would be in deep trouble and it "make wonders".So definitely I prefer Lavazza to Illy. The Illy coffee I bought first time (Moka) was disappointing in flavour and taste. I usually drink 100% Arabica coffee. Anyway if my soldier is happy with Lavazza, he will get lavazza till he gets back Home. It was first time I think he tried this brand. Top to learn more

LavAzza Qualita Rossa
I owe a Coffee Shop in one Mediterennen medevial city and have a lot of experience with various types of Coffees. LavAzza is the favorite brend of Italians (among with Illy) with a reason. It has the best Robusta type coffee ground while Illy has the best rated 100% Arabica blend. LavAzza's 100% Arabica, called Tierra, in Europe is not highly rated as the other blends, such as Grand Riserva (the best LavAzza's blend), but some robusta blend are the top on the market. In US market, Qualita Rossa is the best one I tried so far; it has 70% Arabica nd 30% Robusta ratio; with delicate flavor and creamy top (if you have a good espresso machine and knowledge of espresso making). It is good as well for Capuccino with it's 'sweety' note. Would recommend it definitely. Top to learn more

best lavazza ever
I've tried Lavazza Caffe Espresso and Crema e Gusto. Rossa tastes like middle of these.Crema e Gusto is the cheapest so if it tastes ok i wanted to go with it. however, it has bitter and acid aftertaste. And this acid make my stomach growling. I had that growling with Caffe Espresso but with Rossa, never experienced it. Top to learn more

Forgot How Good This Coffee Really Is
I lived in Europe for a year and a half and drank this coffee almost daily. I would drink Lavazza and Illy almost exclusively. Since moving back to the US in January 2008 I have been drinking sub-par American coffee. The usual suspects, Green Mountain, Starbucks, Newman's Own, Seattle's Best, etc. I didn't remember what quality coffee tasted like and so I continued to drink these coffees pretending they were good. It was not until I ordered Lavazza and brewed it in my French Press that I remembered what real coffee was supposed to taste like. This espresso roast is nearly perfect. It is strong, but not bitter. It tastes of dark chocolate and smokey wood. And the best thing of all is the price on Amazon. There's simply no reason to drink crappy American coffee. Do yourself a favor and order this today. If you like good, strong, European coffee, you'll love this. Illy is probably a little bit better, but at $13 for 8.8 ounces it is just too expensive for what you... Top to learn more

Lavazza Qualita Rossa Coffee
I am a Brit now living in Georgia and this particular Lavazza coffee is so easy to buy in the UK but I couldn't find it here. Other Lavazza coffee just wasn't the same so I was thrilled when I discovered it for sale through Amazon. It doesn't seem to be quite the same as I remember it but it is close enough for it to become my normal morning coffee choice again. It has a rich, dark chocolate flavor, with a hint of sweetness and can be made weak or strong and still taste good. Whenever I serve it to guests, they always ask me what coffee I use. It is delicious and their Lava Dec decaffeinated coffee is the best decaffeinated coffee I have tried. Top to learn more
