Vesion 1.01 Receives a Make Over
Like many fans out there, you're probably wondering what in the world the 1.11 rebuild of Evangelion is considering the 1.01 release is barely four months old. While FUNimation has confirmed that 1.01 was the beginning of four rebuilt feature film releases, 1.11 isn't the second one but rather 1.01 again with some of its lighting (lack thereof) issues addressed, the addition of 2-minutes of new scenes and a second disc including a bunch of extra material.Hard facts first: The release is comprised of a two-disc set, with the feature presentation now coming in at comes in at 100-minutes with an appropriate PG-13 rating due to animated action, violence and some ambiguous nudity.Language options are standard sub & dub fair, which means the viewer is given the option of running the original Japanese dialog track or an English dub, either of which is presented in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. The option to turn on English subtitles exists for either language choice as...

Blu-ray: A magnificent anime on Blu-ray release!
In 2006, Japanese fans and anime fans of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" received exciting news that in the Summer of 2007, the first of four Evangelion films based on the anime television series would be released in theaters. According to news reports, Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno watched the series from beginning to end and wanted to fix up a lot of questions and debates that fans had over the television series and most importantly, incorporate today's new CG technology for the film versions. Even furthering the excitement is that the original crew and cast have signed on to work on the new film. So, with mass promotion in Japan, "Evangelion 1.01 - You Are (Not) Alone" became the #1 film in Japan making over $14.6 million (US), surpassing "The End of Evangelion" which brought in $14.5 million (US). A limited edition DVD was released in Japan in 2008 which came with a script, music videos and an "Explanation of Evangelion" feature and needless to say, fans paid dearly for...

I Have Seen - And It Is Good
I've been a big fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion for many years. I've watched all the original series (and barely made it out alive from 25-26) and absolutely love . When I found out they were remaking the series, I was both excited and concerned, but it turns out my fears were alleviated when I finally got to see Evangelion: You Are (Not) Alone.Gainax took the first few episodes of the series, cleaned up the story, and redrew all the art, amazingly integrated CGI (especially compared to its poor modern usage in anime) and used a movie budget to make something that looks GOOD to watch in 1080p. If you're as big an Eva fan as I am, or even if you just liked some of the series, I'd definitely recommend Evangelion 1.11. They've changed enough of it to flow better in a straight 110 minutes of run time and I...

Product Description

The stunning rebuild of the anime masterpiece is now extended and enhanced with never before seen new animation and 266 visual and audio improvements.

Tokyo-3 still stands after most of civilization was decimated in the Second Impact. Now the city endures the ceaseless onslaught of the deadly Angels, bizarre creatures bent on eradicating the human race. To combat this strange and ruthless enemy, the government agency NERV constructs a fleet of towering humanoid machines – the Evas – and Shinji Ikari is called into action, reluctantly taking his place at the controls of Eva Unit 01.

Living a life of loneliness and questioning his existence, Shinji struggles to accept responsibility for mankind’s battle for survival in this visually striking rebuild of one of the most important anime of all time. Shinji will fight the Angels alongside the only person who might understand his plight – Rei Ayanami, the elusive and frail pilot of Eva Unit 00. In this film experience not to be missed, Shinji and Rei will struggle to learn a simple truth: when carrying the burden of humanity’s survival on your shoulders, you are not alone. The 1st of Three Key Evangelion Soundtracks
This is "Neon Genesis Evangelion", the first of the three fundamental Eva soundtracks, with 23 tracks and clocking in at 58 minutes (and 2 seconds). This soundtrack covers much of the basic music heard in the beginning of the anime series. An excellent collection. EXCELLENT.The lyrics pamphlet includes thought-invoking words from Director Hideaki Anno, Director of Music Shiro Sagisu, and two Assistant Directors. Shinji and Eva Unit-01 are on the cover. Includes Japanese and English translation lyrics for the long version of Cruel Angel's Thesis, and words to Fly Me to the Moon. The rest are credits. On the back of the case is a scene with Eva-01 walking away from a smoky explosion site.A runthrough of the tracks:#1) A Cruel Angel's Thesis <Director's Edit. Version> -- A longer version of the intro of the anime. It runs through the main verses once, then goes through a bridge, and runs through the main verses once more.#2)...

My new favorite CD
I bought this CD, even though it cost fifty bucks, because Evangelion's music is awesome. The first track, Evangelion's theme song, is the meat & potatoes of the CD. When translated, the song title is "The Thesis of the Cruel Angel". The second track, "Fly Me To the Moon," is hauntingly calm for such a series. The song plays after each episode in the series. It's like the calm after the storm, and before another. The rest of the tracks are instrumental music from the series except for the last one, another remix of "Fly Me To the Moon." The only song which I dislike is track nine, Asuka's theme. It simply does not fit into this CD. This is the music from the first few episodes. My friend and I like listening to the music on this disc and reminicing on when this music was played in the series. Overall, a fine CD. Good beat, great music. Only problem is the price.

Beatiful and greatly done music
Neon Gensis Evangelion Vol. I is my favorite among the set of three main soundtracks, the instrumental music is simply some of the best you'll find on any Anime Soundtrack, it only covers a small portion of the series, but it's definately the best portion.I totally recommend it and, if you can only buy one the Neon Gensis Evangelion albums, this is it.

As far as anime endings in general go, I really liked Zeta Gundam's ending(the original, not the redone ending for the movie compilation 20 years later), but I do admit, Macross Do You Remember Love had a top notch ending. I also hear School Days' ending is atrocious, but I honestly have no interest in seeing a show where the main character cheats on every girlfriend he makes and then ends up brutally murdered. I liked both endings, especially End of Evangelion, but I also see how someone might find both unfufilling. Interesting you mentioned toys you wanted but couldn't get, up until recently I could not afford the 1/3000 SDF-1, but I recently found and bought the model kit version of it, which was about half the price. Ironically, the toy I'm referring to The soul of Chogokin GX-14 AKA Evangelion Unit 01. When Yamato feels like returning his emails (dohoho~) he's said the whole license approval process from companies like Big West is a pretty long one. Evangelion is not all that well thought of by many anymore, because of what you mentioned. I so wanted to get the Armor Plus Tekkaman Blade but it came out at a time I couldn't get it and now its gone BUT I'm glad kinda I didn't because the Tekkaman Blade and Evil are coming and preordered both those. However, in the event that my GX-14 does go berserk and falls off the shelf, I'll be forced to open the spec model (despite it being out of scale with the rest of my SOC EVAs).

Evangelion Shin Gekijō-ban Q Quickening, the third film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part remake of Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series, is slated to open in Japan this fall. In 2010, ANA launched a promotion with the Gundam series, creating an "ANA x Gundam Jet" that featured life-size Gundam images on the sides of the plane. A website for a cross-promotional campaign between the Evangelion anime and Japan's All Nippon Airlines carrier has gone live at the URL http://www.

Quest III and Final Fantasy VI dominated the scene. They both marked a respite from the era kicked off by Final Fantasy VII (I'd call it the "Dark Age," mainly because JRPGs were becoming dark mindscrews in the vein of Neon Genesis Evangelion).
