Still a classic...
What did we do before George came along??This was a replacement grill for Mom.... she burned up the cord on the old one (totally her fault) or that one would still be going! This one is VERY SMALL. Two boneless pork chops, two hamburgers if they are small, four slices of bacon, a few dogs, or maybe two pieces of fish. My hubby and I find this too small for us but perfect for one. It is good and hot unlike some of the in-between sizes that never quite heated up enough.For one person or a dorm room (or if allowed) it's great!Our favorite tip - after taking your food off and UNPLUGGING - soak a paper towel with water and place it inside the grill. When you finish eating, add a bit more water and clean up should be a breeze.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED
Inexpensive, small, portable for traveling to parties (along with mymini frydaddy deep fryer), intended for one big hamburger or steak or2-3 chicken breasts. Heats up fast, 1 minute. Easy clean up (useplastic spatulas, metal will scratch teflon).When I ordered, I assumed this was a standard size and did not knowit was mini version - look at the dimensions - but I'm an individualso this is perfect for me. When I have guests over, I can grill 5+hamburgers separately in < 30 minutes.

Just right got the person living alone or maybe a busy couple
I've had a several variations on the small George Foreman grills. I have literally worn most of them out, and they last well when taken care of! I use them a LOT. They are great when making a meal in the summer. It doesn't noticably heat the room like the broiler in the oven and I think it uses much less power all year round.I cooked steak, lamb, pork, chicken, salmon, tuna, cod, haddock, bluefish, trout, and a bunch of stuff that just isn't coming immediately to mind. It was all great. The biggest danger is over-cooking because it's so fast and cooks from both sides at once.The tilted design is great to get rid of grease and the nice hot plates sear the surface to seal in jucices and flavor. With fish I like to use a very light coating of Mayo which seems to help make pink and white fish even more delectibly most and tasty. With steak and meats the grill works great with rubs and spices. I really like the paul prudome "magic" line of spices. Yum! Even cooking...

FABULOUS!
When our small original George Forman gave out I bit the bullet, and decided to spend the money on one with more bells and whistles. GREAT DECISION! My husband uses this almost every day to make a burger, chicken breast, etc. I used it tonight, to make fabulous Tilapia filets which took no time and almost no effort (sprinkle w/ Emril's seasoning and grill for five minutes). THE BEST PART.... REMOVABLE GRILL PLATES! I've put these in the dishwasher and washed by hand. No problem and worlds better than the old model with the fixed plates. I'll use this appliance even more now that clean up is no longer a chore!

Easy cleanup but should get hotter
We bought this model after dropping and breaking our ($[...]) George Foreman "Champ" grill.Pros:- The removable grilling plates come off and go on easily, and cleaning them in the sink or dishwasher is a breeze. The base unit doesn't even get dirty!- Non-stick grilling plates are sufficiently large to cook hamburgers for three or four people.- Fat drips into the provided tray with no leaking out the back or sides.- Floating hinges allow varying thicknesses of food to be held tight on the top and bottom.- Total time to cook, once unit is fully heated, is faster than broiling the burgers in our electric oven and the grill uses far less power.- Light enough to hold with one hand, for easy storing.- Unit lacks a thermometer and temperature control, neither of which is needed for most things. Works well for me!
I'm a college girl just getting into cooking, and I've made salmon, burgers, and even bacon on this grill. Having someone say "This salmon was seared perfectly!" the first time you've ever made it is a great feeling! You really can't mess up with this thing.Pros: The removable plates make clean up pretty easy. My burgers come out perfect every time.Cons: I wouldn't call this non stick. Everything you make leaves something on the grill, and you really need to get scrubbing to get it off the hot plates when you're done (I find scrubbing the grime off the plates when it's hot is a lot easier than waiting for it to cool). Great panini maker
This'll make a couple of hamburgers, a couple of chicken legs or two standard-sized sandwiches (which is English for panini) at the same time. With the adjustable lid set up, it'll make open-faced sandwiches. It's not so great at grilling steaks (the upper element doesn't get hot enough) but for a quick burger, it can't be beat. The non-stick surface is a treat (try to clean it before it cools all the way; it's a little easier that way).

Perfect for two people
I replaced an older Foreman model of the same size and reviews of this model helped me determine that this was the size I wanted. The old one I got rid of had the bun warmer on top, which was mainly inconvenient, not only because I never used it, but it was the first thing to break (every time I opened the grill the bun warmer lid would flip open). I love that this grill takes up little counter space but holds a decent amount of food and that there's no bun warmer. It heats quickly, maintains temperature well and holds two large burgers or five real sausages (not breakfast links - it would probably do 10-12 of those at a time) or six hot dogs. I don't cook chicken on it, but it would probably cook 2-3 chicken breasts, depending on size. For clean-up, I wait for the grill to cool down and then wipe down the top and bottom grill plates with a couple of paper towels. Then it's perfectly clean and ready to heat up for the next use. I love this grill!!
I heard a commercial for this about 3 or 4 times one evening, and I finally paid attention after barely listening to it the first few times. Once I saw that it had interchangeable, *dishwasher-safe* plates, I told my husband that I wanted it for Christmas. I popped over here to amazon and ordered it right away. It got here before Christmas, but since it was my gift, I had to leave it alone until afterwards ;-)A few things attracted me to the grill. Interchangeable plates, dishwasher safe, and the waffle plates. I had been looking for a new wafflemaker, and in fact had looked at the store the night I saw the ad for the G5. The one we've had for 11+ years is too small for our family now, and I wanted something bigger. However, it seemed silly to spend a lot of money on one since I don't make them that often. Works for me!
Some people seem to have had problems with the "Next Grilleration" Foreman electric grill. I haven't.The removable plates are a HUGE plus: simply snap them out, wipe off the grease with a paper towel, rinse the plates off (removing any cooked-on crust with a plastic scrubber), and into the dishwasher they go. The previous Foreman grill I used always bothered me, because cleaning it seemed an iffy--and potentially unsanitary--proposition.I've also had no problems cooking thicker cuts of meat perfectly. HELLO! Just turn your (e.g.) steak around (so that what WAS the front side now faces the hinge) half-way through the grilling time. If you don't have time to do that, you don't have time to cook in the first place. If you can't remember to do that, you should stay out of the kitchen, because you could hurt yourself.One word of advice: ANY grill of this sort works best with boneless cuts of meat, simply because bone and meat shrink at VERY...

Disappearing Non-stick Coating
This is my second GF grill. I had a different model for over a year. The GRP90WGR suffers from the same problem as the first one I owned. The non-stick coating is really poor. It doesn't last very long, even with careful cleaning. My new grill has been used under ten times and the coating is disappearing from high spots in the grill surface even though I only use a soft sponge to clean it. In all other respects, this is a well-designed appliance.

Great product for all sponge needs - esp. the George
This is a great product. Cleaning the grill used to take at least 5 minutes, now it is about 1 minute. I cook about 5-10 meals a week on my George Foreman Grill and these sponges make cleaning it a breeze. I also use the sponges on pots, pans, dishes - and have found them to be excellent for those uses as well. They last as long as a regular sponge and when they start to show their wear, I use them in the bathroom.

Nothing works better
These are the perfect sponges for the George Foreman Grill. They have a scrubby side and a spongy side. There are grooves made into them to get every nook and cranny. I keep them stocked up, but one sponge lasts a long time. I always warm up the grill and, of course, wet the sponge before I clean--makes it very easy.

Got this George Foreman grill as a gift. Promptly grilled sausages last night, bacon this morning, a panini this afternoon and hamburgers this evening!It's a super versatile appliance - heats up rapidly, cooks food evenly and swiftly. I like how it comes with 2 drip trays to catch all the fat you won't be eating! Also the two spatulas are helpful. Will be using this constantly! Great grill, cleaning is kind of hard.
We have used this grill now for about a month and are very satisfied with it. We've used it for full chicken breasts, pork chops, chicken breasts sliced in half, hamburgers, bacon and much more.I have to say, that this grill has made cooking a snap for our family. The larger surface area is the key on this, as every meal we've prepared on it has been for a family of four.However, there are a couple of things that keep this from a 5 star product in my opinion. First is cleaning. It's not very user friendly, and paper towels are hard to get in between the valleys. You can use a sponge, but then your sponge is pretty much dead after a couple of uses. They give you 2 spatulas that we've begun using to scrape the dry matter from the grill. Secondly is that there is no temperature control. Just plug it in, wait 8 minutes for the grill to heat up (I think it heats up a lot faster than that, however, the manual does say to wait 8 minutes) and hope you have the...

Just short of great
Good size. Good layout. Better than the rounder grills. This is my fifth big grill from George. If ever one needed a variable temp control, this is it. This sucker is HOT compared to the other Foreman grills. The grills have a drip channel around the grilling surface which is most useful when cleaning. For some obscure reason the engineers didn't extend the outside channel ridge on this model around the back. When cleaning the top if you drip any liquid it runs onto the counter. This is the only one I've seen with this unfortunate feature.
