Hilarious Series; Dub Has Yet to Disappoint
I've been following the manga and anime since the series debuted in Japan. My biggest fear for the dubbing of "Hetalia" was that it would be stripped of everything not PC (which is literally the entire show). However, in the English version, the jokes are more offensive and the innuendo more rampant. The Japanese version skirted around any Nazi references, but the English version throws one in no more than a 2 minutes into the first episode. Couple that with America referring to Russia as "cannon fodder" and you've got yourself a winner of a show. If you're easily offended then this is obviously not the series for you, though I appreciate the culture clash and parodying of stereotypes. Of course, I also laugh at dead baby jokes.Fans of the series might complain about the dialogue changes, which, from what I've seen, capture the spirit of the situation but contain altered jokes. Now, let me just say, to all the people that fall into these aforementioned categories but purchased the show anyway and now are complaining vehemently about it via review, this show is exactly what it makes itself out to be: a CARTOON. If you were looking for something serious, then good god what were you doing browsing through animated TV shows? Would you go to Spongebob for life lessons? No. Likewise, if you're looking for an accurate portrayal of historic events, go buy a historical reenactment. This anime is fantasic. The dialogue was changed a little bit from the original, however, I think it fits better for the english audience. The english voice actors did an amazing job with the accents. This is definietly one of my favorite animes and I dare you not to get hooked after the first 5 episodes.

Very Funny
I'll begin with this: this show was NOT intended for those that are easily offended or upset by stereotyping, historical inaccuracies, or the trivialization of major historic events (also, homophobics beware this is not the show for you).Other then that this show is a funny 5 min episodes of pure fun and enjoyment.With the dubbing of "Hetalia" you would fear that it would be stripped of everything not PC (which is literally the entire show). I've never read the comic, but my sister got me hooked on the anime with the words "chibi Italy". (chibi are tiny cute versions of a charater with biiiggg eyes)The premise of the show is simple: countries are personified as bishonen (cute boys), and historical events are played out on a personal level (such as the allying of Italy and Germany, or the interaction of Italy and The Holy Roman Empire). The episodes are about 5 minutes in length.I don't know too much about World War II, so I didn't have any problems with historical inaccuracy, on the contrary, I probably learned some things (I feel dumb, but I had never heard of the term "Axis Powers" before watching this show).It is easy to be offended by this show, as the characters (countries) are stereotypical- i.e. Italy is a cute, but totally dumb bishonen, who occasionally dresses up in a maid outfit and looks just like a girl. If you love Hetalia you'll love this movie!
If you're a fan of the series, you're going to really love the movie. It's got a really simple plot with all your favorite characters doing what they do, keeping you laughing the whole time. They really try to incorporate as many characters as they can. It's a MUST buy, for APH collectors!

Thank ya Jesus! It's almost here! I've been dying to get this since I watched some of it on youtube awhile ago. If words can only describe how awesome this anime is---! Since I watched it in the Japanese audio, I want the American ver.(or UK ver.) to hurry up so I can hear everyone's accents(Prussia's awesomeness pawns all)! From what I've watched from Hetalia: Paint it, White, apparently the countries are having an issue with some threat called---uh---Nopora's?(If I've spelled it wrong, I'm sorry) that Japan explained that is a white monster with no nose, no face or any facial features. And the nations/countries are supposed to do something before all of them are turned into no-faced-white-globs of======whatever?I already preordered this and can't wait until it comes out! This will be yet another awesome Hetalia piece for Hetalia fans out there!All hail Russia-san! And Iggy!

The theatrical feature Paint It, White! (2010) continues the misadventures of the cast of the series Hetalia: Axis Powers (2009). Various countries of the world are portrayed as teenage boys who alternately squabble and try to work together. They need to concentrate on the latter when the Earth is invaded by the Pictons, featureless aliens who resemble simple CG versions of noppera-buo, the faceless ghosts of Japanese folklore. The Pictons generate multicolored tendrils that bleach Technicolor landscapes into empty expanses of white with a few gray lines. Paint It, White! is no sillier than FLCL, but the characters remain unsympathetic one-notes, and the story careens along at an unvarying pace, interrupted by shots of the logo and the characters saying "Hetalia." Director Bob Shirohata and his crew revel in offensive ethnic stereotypes, although the series was cancelled in Japan when Korean protestors complained about the depiction of the Korea character in the manga version. The filmmakers recycle a lot of footage from the TV series, including the singularly tasteless gag of Italy announcing, "I've got a little surprise for you!" and Germany replying, "What is it, another Jew?" Great show.
I absolutely love the humor in Hetalia. I was very excited to purchase this item. One thing, though, is that under the language in the Amazon info, it says it's only language is Japanese, and the subs are in English. I almost tried to cancel my purchase because of this, but thank God it was too late to cancel it, because it turned out to be that it was in English as well. I think someone should change that.

Hetalia has forever jaded my view of history.
I've always liked history, don't get me wrong, and I even used to picture historical situations like Hetalia has portrayed them in my head during class. But when Hetalia came out, it was just amazing. I enjoy this show very much. I even once showed my sister it. And she aced a test on some part of history. She came home saying, "DUDE. I passed my history test." Note: She sucks at history like whoa.Good show, hilarious, and always fun to watch.

this anime was amazing,funny,helpful! makes important events easer to remember like the Suez crisis and who where the allies and the axis powers during the war,german reparations,france never wining a war,russias large crushing power and thats only half of it! Note: I know I'm a nerd, but who cares. I've reviewed Hetalia Season One and Paint it, White. Now is the time for the long awaited Hetalia: World Series - Season 3!Also, I watched most of it on youtube, so I don't want to hear people complaining and ranting about reviewing a product that hasn't been released yet. So very worth it.
The extra couple of bucks for the limited edition is worth it, especially if you are a fan of Prussia. The purple Prussia bandanna is adult sized, durable and of course, awesome.The commentaries are a blast to listen too. Personally, I loved the 'revolutionary brothers' commentary the best. Eric Vale is a blast to listen to. However, listening to the voice actors for Prussia and Romano in the first one is priceless.Th English cast is wonderful, although I am still getting used to Poland's English voice. It's very good, just not what I was expecting.And yes, you will get to hear Sweden call Denmark(I hope I got that right) his wife in English.The episodes are fantastic in quality and seeing more characters adds to the fun. And you will laugh as Hungary demands Prussia give back Austria's happy place. Yes, happy place.Well worth the buy, honestly, especially given it's re-watch value. It's hard to view these episodes just once.
