Fabulous & Entertaining !
Our family purchased this book at a local book signing event in Seattle. I was impressed by the depth and quantity of information about horses! I had no idea there was so much to know about horses. This book has so much entertainment value for horse lovers of all ages. I think the book would make a special gift for children, pre-teens and teens that are into "all things horsey". I am not big horse fan and found the book to be a good read, interesting, entertaining, and well written. My daughter recommends it highly to keep up with her "horse crazy friends". 5 STARS!

Perfect for your horse crazy girl!
We got this book before the author was going to be a local book store doing a signing and horsey party. The book is FULL of horse information yet its easy to read. Also a great reference go-to with horse questions. My 8 year old daughter loves this book and carried it all around with her for the first few weeks she had it. Now it stays next to her bed at all times and she often flips through it. Perfect for any girl who loves horses!

For Girls Who LOVE Horses!
Bought this for my granddaughter but her sister got to it first (she is only 8) and couldn't understand what she was reading by reading "Contents." But it turns out that they both couldn't get enough of the book. Great "textbook" with airy illustrations that captivated my girls hearts. Thank you.

"This is a very fun set,"
Here is what my 6-year-old daughter says about this set:"All the horses are flocked. The colors are beautiful. You can play lots of games with them. I like to play horse rescue games. All the compartments have pictures in the background."I'll add that this set has absolutely enchanted her, to the point where she doesn't play with her larger-sized horses any more. That may change, but this toy is a winner.

An Excellent Gift!
I bought this last Christmas for my then 7 year old daughter. She loved it! The other children loved it. I had one mom ask me where I got such a unique item. As far as the reviewer who said that they got them for their 2 year old and the fur falls off, these aren't meant for a 2 year old. My daughter has had hers now for a year and they are still beautiful. Cute display! Cute horses! Fun!

Easy to read and understand
Cherry Hill's books are always very useful and easy reading. She has a way of stating things in a very simple but informative way. You can't go wrong with her books. This book is great if you have a casual interest in learning about horse behavior. It gives a lot of basic logic behind why horses do what they do. If you were intrigued by the study of horses, I would recommend "The Nature of Horses" by Stephen Budiansky as a more in depth study of the subject.

my horse-crazy daughter loves this!
My daughter was absolutely thrilled to receive this stamp set as a gift. She likes the realistic look of the horses and their scenery. I have to say that I also prefer the idea of her creating projects with realistic horses and not "pretty ponies". The stamps work well, though the stamp pad included is a little small. We have many other Melissa and Doug products in our home, and they tend to be very durable. I'm pleased with both the quality and the price!

Love a great western
I have always been a fan of Zane Grey, his writing style that is amazing. The descriptions he uses makes you feel like you are actually there. If you are looking for good westerns combined with romance, his books are the way to go! I have never read one of his books that I didn't like.

Great for little girls
My nieces really loved these. They are very cute and the music is actually really nice to listen to. They loved winding the back and watching the horse spin. They aren't all that sturdy, but it's a very pretty music box with lots of secret compartments for girls. One thing, watch out for the little door knobs. When mine came in one was unscrewed and in the box. So you might want to check the box before giving it as a gift.

Daughter will love it!
We bought this for our horse-crazy 5 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas. She had seen it at a friends and it was one of the few things she mentioned repeatedly on her 'wish' list for Santa this year. She is going to love it. It's very cute - the horse inside turns as the music plays - and the little drawers will be perfect for a few treasures. But - the box is very small - pay attention to the measurements or you might be surprised when it arrives - and the drawers are very small - this won't hold many things. Seems to be solidly constructed.

I can picture a horse (or, more likely a donkey) who would fit “Paco,” but it’s not this horse. ” If an animal has a perfectly good name and answers to that name, I think it’s a bit rude to make a change. To re-name or not to re-name. Generally I consider it presumptuous to change a perfectly good horse name just to make the owner feel cool. On the other hand, if you purchase or otherwise end up with a horse with a ridiculous or suggestive name, I think it’s not a bad thing to make a change. The woman who gave him to me called him “Ichobod” and, while I can’t imagine ever naming a horse that, it works for him. Call me a purist, but “Black Beauty” and “Shadowfax” and “Flicka” belong to horses who, though they may be “real” only in literature and my mind’s eye, own those names.
