These are sooo good!!
These berries are the best quality I have seen. Very consistent and the blues are very sweet! I grew up in Idaho on huckleberries and they bring back great memories of my childhood. I love to use them in smoothies and treat myself by putting them over vanilla ice cream (at least the berries are healthy!) Highly recommended!

delicious I wish everyone could have these
When I was a child in the 50s and sixties we used to search the Eastern Oregon Mountains for rare and delicious wild Huckleberries. I tended to eat more at the bush than I put in the bucket. these tart ,sweet and tangy little berries are the real deal and well worth the price. They were rush shipped in sealed mylar pouches with lots of dry ice and arrived in great condition. They are delicious either frozen, slightly thawed or cooked in pies or pancakes etc. We've shared them with friends who had never had them before and they keep raving about them.

A controversial masterpiece
Okay, we all know the plot, so there's no sense in rehashing it; but this book has generated a great deal of heat and very little light lately, it's been banned in some school districts and attacked as racist garbage, so this review will address the question: Is "Huckleberry Finn", in fact, a racist book? The charge of racism stems from the liberal use of the N word in describing Jim. Some black parents and students have charged that the book is humiliating and demeaning to African-Americans and therefore is unfit to be taught in school. If there has been a racist backlash in the classroom, I think it is the fault of the readers rather than the book. "Huckleberry Finn" is set in Missouri in the 1830's and it is true to its time. The narrator is a 13 year old, semi-literate boy who refers to blacks by the N-word because he has never heard them called anything else. He's been brought up to see blacks as slaves, as property, as something less...

Twain at his best!
Back during my school days this was still not a book that was considered to be politically incorrect and so I was supposed to read it. As was far too often the case, I got by on little more than watching the movie version and never bothered to read this masterpiece. A few months ago I picked up a copy to put in my library for my grandson to use when he got old enough to go to school. Unfortunately this has been classified as a children's book and so I had little intention of reading it when I bought it.After discussing a book about President Grant and Mark Twain with a friend I decided that I should read this book and I soon found out just how much of an adventure I had been missing. Twain's well deserved reputation as a storyteller is on clear display in this book from cover to cover. The reader is drawn into the lives of the characters to the point of being really disturbed when something bad happens to them. Sure, they steal and they lie but you will love them in spite...

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn By Mark Twain Top to learn more

A seminal work of American Literature that still commands deep praise and still elicits controversy, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is essential to the understanding of the American soul. The recent discovery of the first half of Twain's manuscript, long thought lost, made front-page news. And this unprecedented edition, which contains for the first time omitted episodes and other variations present in the first half of the handwritten manuscript, as well as facsimile reproductions of thirty manuscript pages, is indispensable to a full understanding of the novel. The changes, deletions, and additions made in the first half of the manuscript indicate that Mark Twain frequently checked his impulse to write an even darker, more confrontational book than the one he finally published. idawa on April 10 at 11:46 a. m. Wow, this must be a pretty sophisticated group of programmers, not sure how the hijacked the code to force people to join the group against their will on Facebook - especially since you have to request to join. CdAHumanist on April 10 at 11:59 a. m. I’m part of the group and only because I requested to join it. I saw that the group existed when I saw a feed post from a friend who had joined. I would buy that many of the people asked to join not knowing what it meant even if they don’t support the group, but that’s different than alleging that they were forced to join against their will. Once added, depending on the group’s permissions, an Admin might have to approve it. I once was in a group I oppose politically for almost a month before I realized it, at which point I promptly left (clever gag I guess). Idawa- I get added to private groups occasionally, it’s easy to do. In every private group there is an “ADD FRIEND” place on the right column. So they could be in the Government-Knows-Best group for days or weeks before they realized they were automatically part of a group they didn&rsquo. As idawa says above, you must request to join and then be approved by the group admin so there is no way what Mary says happened actually happened. On OpenCdA today, Mary Souza is questioning the 500 individuals on Facebook now backing the Stop the Recall movement, which she calls “Government-Knows-Best” group. Mary suggests in a comment that the 500 individuals who have signed on in support may simply be combined groups of friends dumped onto the new page by the Stop the Recall organizers.

Mary Souza, one of the recall leaders, was an outspoken critic of the Bloem administration, even before she lost a 2005 three-way race to Mike Kennedy, one of the recall targets. A recall backer circulated a flier at the Republican Women’s luncheon Thursday claiming that her group is trying to remove Bloem & Co. from office because they wouldn’t allow an advisory vote on the, ahem, $40 million upgrade of McEuen Field (the... Sims helped circulate an attack ad against three City Council incumbents in the 2007 city election and then fought City Hall for more than a year before paying a small fine for submitting incomplete campaign finance papers. ” Deputies brought Captain America back to Earth after finding him in a red-and-white airplane … Cindy Hval, my Huckleberries blog sub, tweeted before the winners of the Mega Millions jackpot was revealed: “I don’t need no stinkin’ lottery ticket. The recall election launched last week against progressive Coeur d’Alene Mayor Sandi Bloem and three City Council members is based on a fib and old grudges. But one of my Huckleberries blog commenters saw the irony: “It’s funny that someone who refuses to pay his taxes doesn’t seem to mind using a taxpayer-supported rest area. She says things to me that few others would dare to. So we both got a big chuckle Thursday night when I returned home from an organizational meeting of the Coeur d’Alene Stop the Recall group, passionate about the struggle that will tear my town... Huckleberries Scanner Traffic (from Wednesday afternoon): “A 40- to 50-year-old male in gray hoodie is pretending to be an airplane by holding his arms out at Hangars 19 and 20 at Kootenai County airport/Hayden. Hope my Mama feels the same as Cindy’s … Poll: The 2012 Legislature was very unpopular with readers of my Huckleberries blog ( www.

In fact, I can't remember an attempted recall of one City Council member, let alone the mayor and three council members who have accomplished so much in this town. I’ll say it again, this effort is destined for failure for so many reasons — and I hope it’s the beginning of the end of people like Kathy Sims, Mary Souza, Spencer hair-guy, et al. Alas, like a nagging and persistent wart, they won’t go away. Don’t we elect people into office to make what we hope are forward-thinking decisions for the betterment of the community (as has been proven time and time again). Why does your type make so many accusations and offer nothing, nothing, to back it up. Are you insinuating that anybody with a business interest downtown should have no say on the community. What is it about these three people that they can think for the rest of us. You know as well as the rest of us that Sandi has at the very least, an appearance of a conflict of interest. CaptainAmerica on April 07 at 10:53 a. m. Been here a longer than you D. O. and I don’t recall any other mayors or city council acting so arrogantly about a simple vote. The recall is about letting the people have a say about changing their public park that was dedicated to the community. KeithErickson on April 07 at 11:12 a. m. Oh captain american, you’re so misguided and open the door to so many questions. They’re not thinking for us and have never claimed to do so. They are acting on our behalf because that is what THEY WERE ELECTED TO DO. They have done absolutely nothing to warrant a recall. I'd like to know what they say — and misstate — about McEuen Field and those targetted for recall.

Three lottery tickets sold in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland hit the world record-breaking $640 million Mega Millions jackpot, lottery officials said Saturday, leaving scores of players across the country with busted multi-millionaire dreams. My son, who was nine at the time, begged me to buy a ticket just for him, because he knew the numbers and was sure he would win. Stickman on April 01 at 7:01 p. m. I have told this story a few times over the years about the only time I actually bought a lottery ticket. He won about 4k and spent it all in about a month, because I demanded it. No saving for the future, take what you won and spent it anyway you want, but spend it. It has always been a great memory for our family, thought I have never bought another... He picked five of the numbers and was off by one number for the winning ticket. winning ticket was bought at a convenience store in the small town of Red Bud, near St. Louis, and the winner used a quick pick to select the lucky numbers, Illinois Lottery spokesman Mike Lang said.
