Many experts believe that a high quality fish oil is probably the most important supplement we can take. This is in part, due to the fact that the average American diet is severely lacking in omega 3 fatty acids, but is very high in omega 6. According to the literature I have read, the ideal ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 should be 1:1. However, the average American diet is estimated to provide a ratio of 33:1!Another problem with consuming enough omega 3 is the fact that our oceans have been polluted, so nutritional experts caution eating too much fish. Fish Oil took care of my Excema
I have been using about 3000mg of DHA and EPA combined as suggested my my doctor (that is about 6 capsules of the Ultimate Omenga). I noticed a few weeks after taking fish oil that the terrible eczema that I had been battling for over a year was going away. It went completely away. I went off of the fish oil I was using for a couple weeks(I was using a cheap brand from Sam's Club) because my Dr. recommended using a higher quality brand of fish oil and suggested Nordic Naturals. My eczema started to come back from being off of fish oil but after using the NordicNaturals Ultimate Omega it has started going away again!

BEST FISH OIL
I've been using Nordic Naturals for years. It's the best brand of fish oil by far. Very pure, no PCB's, metals, etc. It's recommend highly by dieticians, too. I love it b/c I hate fish - the smell, taste, you name it. You never taste the fish b/c it comes w/ lemon oils in it - you only taste the lemon. Fish oil has totally improved my skin, hair, and joints as well. Love it!

Love it!
Reasons I like it:1) Screened for mercury and other bad stuff.2) Great lemon taste.3) Thin gel cap.2) and 3) matter to me because I'm one of the few people who actually like the taste of fish oil so I bite into the capsule and release the oil. The lemon taste gives it a nice flavor and the gel cap is easy to chew. Other brands have thick capsules which don't taste good and have really oily fish oil taste. For people who just swallow it, the taste of the oil or the capsule don't really matter, but make sure you get a brand which screens for toxins because you don't want to be killing yourself with mercury while protecting your heart.

Worth the price!
If you've ever burped after taking fish oil, you know that it can be pretty foul. This product is worth the higher price just for the sheer fact that you DON'T burp that nasty fishy taste. These are quite pleasant. I tried Kirkland fish oil because I was trying to cut down on cost but then the burp thing happened. Suffered the Costco sized bottle and am now back to Nordic Naturals. Muuuuuch better!

This is the cheapest price I have found. These capsules have a lemony taste if any, are not too big for me to swallow (and most stuff is too big), and all books I've recently read say these are an absolute must for good health.

My kids LOVE THEM (and they are hard critics!)
I have been searching for GOOD Omega 3's for my children for quite some time. I was leery of gummies since out last purchase of Lil Critters Omega 3. They were absolutely disgusting!! So I thought after reading the reviews here for these we would give these a try. I was pleasantly surprised to NOT smell ANY TRACE of fish when I opened the bottle! Then smelled the gummies and they smelled great! Bottom line: my kiddos LOVE THESE. I am a hard critic (as are they) so if there was any trace of yuckiness I would post it, they love them and say they are 100% yummy, no trace of fish oil taste at all!!!! I am very happy and will continue to purchase these for my two youngest kids (4&6).

Perfect choice for kids!
I was looking for an alternative to Lil' Critters Omega-3 gummies. After several tries to get them to let me know about their mercury testing results, I quit buying their product since they did not give me any information. I wanted a product with some clarity around mercury levels and Nordic Naturals was the perfect choice.Their fish oil exceeds tough European standards for mercury levels and according to my kids they taste great. While these are more expensive than alternative products, I am more concerned about product safety than price, so this is the product I let my kids consume.Check out their website as I think after you review the facts about what is in these supplements, you will feel really comfortable about buying them. ...and perhaps you think that's obvious! I bought these for myself since I HATE fish and have had issues with fishy-burp-factor previously. I also tend to take my vitamins more regularly if they are chewable/gummy/tasty. Bottle says 2 gummies for age 2+. I was eating 3-4 per day, figuring adult dose might be higher.Pros:-they taste pretty good - combo tart/sweetCons:-there is a LOT of sugar on the outside - I would guess 1/4-1/2 teaspoon per gummy of "organic sucrose crystals" (i.e. sugar)-there is a very, very faint fishy flavor/smell - not enough to stop me from eating though, and I really hate fish. I doubt most people would notice.-compared to same company's soft gels (complete omega version), I would have to eat TWELVE gummies a day as for equivalent amount of fish oil. They are 10 calories a piece = 120 calories, and five servings per bottle. Ouch.I like gummies, but not worth it for me. The soft-gels I just...

My baby likes it
I have been feeding this to my 1 year old baby for a couple of weeks. My little one likes it. Even though the taste could be fishy for an adult (I tried a spoon of it), it seems the baby does not care.Another concern of mine was the radiation contamination from Fukushima accident. I spent sometime to do homework online on this issue. Finally I was convinced that this Nordic Naturals' product, which is made from Norwegian Arctic Cod, should be safe. Norwegian Arctic cod's habitat is roughly between Greenland and Barents Sea, an isolated area from Pacific waters, which makes it very unlikely to be contaminated. I also checked online for any report about fish radiation contamination. No source points to Norwegian Cod. So, though some seafood is contaminated, this product is relatively safe.

Great supplement to formula
I formula feed my 6 month old infant and I use 2 dropperfuls of this Nordic Natural's Baby's DHA in his bottle daily and I feel very comfortable that he is getting the proper amount of DHA his growing brain needs. He has never acted like he can taste the DHA, which is an oil, but I've also never noticed a smell. And it washes out of his bottles no problem when I put them in the dishwasher. As long as he is on formula, I will use this DHA supplement.

Considering this or the childrens' one, here is what you should know
I posted the review below for the Childrens Nordic Naturals version. But I thought it would be helpful here as well. So I am posting the review below. I know I started to have the big question of hey can I get the childrens one...and this is what I found out from having tried both and looking at the labels.We have had our adopted daughter since she was 7 months old. Not being able to breastfeed we wanted to give her as many positive dietary items as we could. Of course we could not do a controlled experiment but this has seemed to help her. She is developing well and she has no problem with taking this or the infant DHA Nordic Naturals at all. The developing great is very encouraging because she has a genetic deletion and her mom was malnourished and had no prenatal care. Our daughter was also underfed for the first 6 weeks plus of her life. It seemed she started doing more with vocalbulary and being interested in things after starting the DHA. Would she have anyway? Kids love the taste....
My 7 year old son has been taking 4 of these for about a little over a year now. It has really helped with his focus and concentration. You can chew them and they taste like strawberry....no fishy taste. He loves them. I love that they help him. Worth the money and peace of mind. People are so quick to use adhd meds, when they should give this a try...I am not a doctor...but it has really helped my son a lot. I would check with the doctor to be sure it is okay. I am thankful for them. Not a miracle cure...but they do help.

A huge difference!
My 3 year old daughter has a lot of sensory processing issues and I had read that fish oil could have a positive impact on her sensory integration. She loves the strawberry Children's DHA gelcaps and asks for them. We can tell a real difference in her behaviour and her ability to calm herself when she has been taking her dha regularly. When we run out, we notice that she just has a harder time dealing with sensory issues. So for us, this product has made a huge difference.

My Child Loves These
My four year old has been taking these for a couple of years. She loves the taste; she will ask for her "fish vitamins" every day. She can swallow them now, but she chewed them earlier. The taste is surprisingly pleasant. We don't get a lot of DHA and other essential fatty acids in our diet (we do try!) so we use these as insurance.

Added Benefits !
I initially bought this product for the benefits listed on the Amazon and Nordic websites, I needed a good source of Omega 3 and decided on the Nordic 3-6-9, it's an excellent and reputable brand. I had no idea how these supplements would help in the most unexpected way. For the past ten years or so I have suffered from headaches...most are sinus related, some are migranes, and some are from a neck injury. I relied on Imatrex, but that was breaking my bank account, not to mention what it was probably doing to my heart. Sinus pills did not work, neither did Tylenol 3, asprin, you name it. Unbelieveably, since I have been taking the Nordic 3-6-9, my headaches have all but vanished. I have no idea how or why they are helping, but that is all that has changed in my diet and can think of no other reason. I did a tiny bit of investigating and did read where fish oil pills can help migranes. If you suffer from them it's certainly worth a try!
