I purchased two burgundy tieup shades for my daughter's room. I hesitated whether to buy these drapes because I never purchased drapes online, but now i think it was a great choice. Tie-up shade shouldn't be untied
I got this because I needed a single panel to cover a bathroom window. The size is perfect and in the picture the tie up looks very nice. After dropping the shade for showers and tying it back up during the day I've realized it's a pain to have to tie up and it doesn't look very pretty unless you want to spend time meticulously arranging the fabric.My only other complaint is that the curtain is SO effective at blocking light the holes where the ties are stitched in look like a runway in the bright sunlight.Nice color, satiny finish, nice weight. Very happy with this brand, would not hesitate to buy more from this company.

Lovely but beige blocks only some light
I bought two of the beige curtains for my daughter's room. At three-years-old, she often wakes with the sun. The curtains look nice and simple, and the beige fabric is not very shiny but is soft. I love the tie up option since we have window AC units in some of our windows. However, my complaint is that they don't block nearly as much light as they claim. I'd say that the room is less than 75% darker. You can see the light shining through the openings of the blinds under the curtains. Also, the light easily escapes around the edges of the curtains, so be sure to mount them as close to the window frame as possible. I'd suggest ordering a darker color since it might block more light. I'll definitely keep the curtains--but I may move them to my room and look for something that will block even more light in her room.

everything I hoped for
Love love love this shade. I had some trepidation about buying without being able to see, touch, inspect in person but all's well that ends well. Can see out through it slightly but it is hard to see in from outside, which is good. Easy to install as long as you don't hang it upside down as was my husband's first try. Opening and closing mechanism works very well.

Great Job
i have avoided getting blinds for my place because they are so expensive (the windows are 74 in long). I decided to buy these because I loved the 'kyoto' pattern. These came and they look great. They are 72 in long so they dont go past the window but they cover the window. I am very satisfied with these.

great value & style
I love the color and coated linen feel on the style I bought (paid $50 in a store - oh well). They look great up and down. They filter light most of our glaring morning light. My wishes: Careful packing would ensure that the spots where the shades 'want' to fold as they go up are even (I have to guide mine when I pull them up so that they fold evenly); an available shorter length would be great. I have about 20" of fabric i don't need.

Looks nice but flawed
Very attractive blind and great price for the size. It is however a bit flawed: Some of the fibers in the weave are bunched up a bit and create a dark 'dot' on the blind. Also the upper valance is crooked! It hange 6" from the ceiling on the left and 3" on the right. Oh well, you get what you pay for: at $42 for a 72" x 72" blind I can't complain much.

3) Cost: Is it really worth buying all the materials, including 2-3 yards of custom fabric if I’m not even sure it’s the best solution, when buying a plain one would be more than half the price. But then three issues came up and made me rethink the idea: 1) Time and Ability: Do I really have the patience and ability to make a custom roman shade with my crippling inability to sew well.

By choosing roman shades , aesthetic will get priority and utility will follow closely, and by choosing top down bottom up shades, utility will be at the top while aesthetic will follow very closely. This means, the former can either pull the shade down leaving the top open and the bottom shut, or may push the shade up leaving the bottom half uncovered and the top half of the window shut. This is exactly what may happen if you walk into a store selling Roman shades and someone brings out the option of top down bottom up shades as well. The aspect of personalization is abundant in Roman shades, something that none other in the world of window shades will provide. In top down bottom up shades, the owner can have a two way option of using the shade. The option of having these shades custom made allows you to paint your own patterns and motifs in your shade, and you could use almost any variation that complements your personal style. There was an uniqueness in these shades that none other can provide, and this is exactly how these shades have been named. Some of you may have seen your mommy or your granny standing by the kitchen door and making the one of the toughest decisions revolving around choosing one among two white aprons . . . ‘the white one or the white one’ is a type of choosing that... Thus, you have a fresher and vibrant house with almost any kind of Roman shade that you choose.
