A well-used reference in my horse library!
From this first edition (which is now out of print), I learned far more than just how to tie rope halters for horses. I learned how to tie rope halters that fit EACH individual horse perfectly--no matter what the age, breed, or size.There are no photos. Instead, the halter-tying steps are presented in computer-drawn illustrations, which I find clearer and easier to follow when tying knots than photos. Hand-done drawings are used to show how a halter should fit and how to measure a horse for a halter.An X-shaped Double-Overhand Knot--made by tying two intertwined simple overhand knots--is the main knot used in the halter. Above the lead rope loops, a Fiador Knot is used.My copy of the book has stood up well to lots of use. The cover is plastic laminated (two sides).
