Good job, I did not have one scout come to my door and when you did see one they don't take checks and I am an undertaker that works nights,so I don't see these little cookie sellers and this made me do an on line search for cookies and bless the modern day little brownie to step up and help the night shift workers at my Funeral Home. Take that, Girl Scout cookie mafia
The Girl Scout Samoa is possibly my favorite cookie of all time. But I'm tired of having to wait so long between offerings and paying what I find to be a bit of an exorbanant price for a pack of cookies. Enter: Keebler. These cookies are near-perfect reproductions of the Samoa, available for purchase year-round and you'll save a few bucks too.On the other hand, you'll have to face yourself in the mirror after taking money from the service-oriented activities of Girl Scouts and siphoning it towards another money-grubbing corporation, Kellog (don't get it twisted, these dudes in the boardroom aren't magical elves).So to reconcile your palette and your conscience, I recommend buying from Girl Scouts during cookie season while using Keebler for the the occasional relapse during the off-season.

Wonderful Thin Mints
I totally love these cookies and can eat a sleeve of them at one sitting. I really have to restrict myself or they are gone in a day. I love dark chocolate and mint and to put them together in a cookie is my hearts desire. Need a Samoa fix? Grab these!
I just saw and bought these recently because they looked just like the Girl Scout cookies I have always loved over the years ... SAMOA cookies. If you are a fan of the classic Girl Scout Samoa, then you will undoubtedly love these. Not sure how or why Keebler decided to bring this cookie to the regular store shelf, but it's a winner. For a little history: Keebler-Wyl Bakery became the official baker of Girl Scout Cookies in 1936. It's only natural that the recipes and cookies would make it to the consumer shelf.When you can't find a Girl Scout selling cookies and you need a fix ... these will do. Love "Thin Mints"? Try these: and you will NOT be disappointed.I feel like I hit the jackpot. Not that I won't still support the Girl Scouts...

Allow cookie sheets to cool completely before putting new cookies to be baked on them, placing raw dough on hot sheets melts the butter and makes the cookies spread. Continue to cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until mixture reaches 248 Bake cookies one sheet at a time for 10-12 minutes, rotating the cookie sheet 180°, halfway through baking. Set cookie trays on cooling racks and allow to cool for about 6 minutes before taking cookies off of the trays. Place caramel, milk and salt in a microwaveable bowl and microwave on high power for 1 minute at a time, stirring after each minute, until nice and melty (3-4 minutes). Using a knife or an offset spatula generously spread the caramel mixture on top of your completely cooled cookies. Make the caramel (salted caramel by the way. In a large pot over high heat, bring milk, corn syrup, sugar, and butter to a boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Line the pan with waxed paper or parchment paper and coat with cooking spray or butter. (Buttering the tray before adding the paper helps keep it from slipping around while you’re pouring in the hot caramel mixture.

Those crafty little elves at Keebler have a sweet little recipe that rivals the Little Brownie Bakers' Samoas, for sure. They're infinitely better than the ABC Bakers' bland, pasty, less-than-tasty Carmelitas, masquerading as Samoas {wannabees} in various parts of Girl Scout country. I high-tailed it over to Shop-Rite and bought a reasonably-sized bag of temptation, otherwise known as Coconut Dreams. They're called "Coconut Dreams" and seriously, they are that good. {I had to boycott GS Cookies the year our local chapter substituted those imposters in our region.
