I recommend SPAX - strong, fast, durable
As a reasonably accomplished woodworker, I basically only use SPAX screws in the shop except for screws specifically associated with particular finish hardware (hinges, handles, etc.) and silicon bronze screws for boating. They are strong and fast to drive.SPAX has a shank much like a dry wall screw - except they are stronger and no where near as brittle - rather than the old fashioned cut screws where the threads are cut into the barrel of the screw at an increasing depth toward the point. The screw heads accommodate both Phillips and square head drivers.SPAX really are self drilling in all but the most dense materials. Admittedly, in cases where a broken screw would cause significant grief, I still pre-drill. All in all though, I believe I am getting significantly less screw breakage particularly at long lengths.I also believe the "wavy" edges at the tip help lock the screw into place, ensuring it won't work loose over time as the wood fibers...

I bought these screws with the innocent intentions of replacing the drywall in my bedroom closet. However, after securing the first screw, I was suddenly sucked into a swirling space-time vortex. I had gone back to my early teenage years, where I was the biggest dork in my high school. I quickly improved my image and turned myself into the most popular jock in town. Once I was satisfied that I had corrected the most depressing years of my life that had contributed to the bulk of my severe mid-life clinical depression, I wanted to get back to the present. Luckily I had another screw in my pocket so I was able to use that to get home - otherwise I would have been stuck in high school forever.In summation, it is a great product, but make sure you carry at least one spare, lest you get lost in time!

The screws function properly.
They appear to be machined well enough. The piece count was accurate. They are hard at work holding my second HDD in place.(If the drive gives way, I will transfer some data to reduce the weight of the drive, and amend my review. As a surprise benefit, they keep all the eels out of my hovercraft. I just toss the screws into the fan blades, and impale the slimy suckers. I then wait for the eels to float to the surface, and retrieve my screws.)

The trouble with buying naked drives is that they don't include mounting screws, are just much cheaper than the consumer packaged drives. Needed some screws, these fit the bill. Seem strong and well made.

This is great for the DYI-er and a very handy way to keep all the commonly/frequently used little hardware tchochkies in one EZ to find place. At the current 9.99 price and Prime free shipping, this seems like a fair value to me. You get a handy case plus a decent assortment of hangers, hooks and doo-dads for hanging things on the wall. Great if you just moved into a new apartment or home. As someone else here mentioned, a nice house-warming gift, or maybe a stocking-stuffer for Christmas?My set had 5 large picture hanger hooks (rated 50 lbs but I would not go over 25), and 15 med-small size (rated 20 lbs but I say 10). They're not top quality, but seem adequate. There was some wire (about 6 ft. so you'll probably need more) and a gob (they say 50, I did not count 'em) of the small eye screws for same; 10, 25, and 40 each of small, medium and large screws, 7 medium-large hook-style screws (like you would hang a cup on); 12, 20, and 35 each of large, medium, and small plastic :fish" anchors (you stuff into a pre-drilled or existing hole to provide purchase for a screw). 10 large (1 1/4 inch) right angle...

Great palce to start and a great storage tool
Once you start using the Pocket-Hole systems, you will settle into the sizes you use most. This kit is a great assortment to get you started and then a good storage place for the screws later. Once you settle on the size or sizes you use most, you can buy them in bulk and store enough "project sized quantities" in this case while you're working. Besides, you never know when you might need that one or two different sizes in a project.

Great Starter Set from Kreg
I got the set as a starter set for the K3 Master Hole Jig System that I purchased at the same time. The set seems to fit the bill exactly as I had expected. There is an obvious oil treatment on the screws as it has completely soaked the description lab on the inside of the lid. I think I will be cleaning/wiping the screw before use but I suppose that is better than having them rust before I can use them. From here I will just refill this set as needed or add different screws as needed. I do like the case as it is a very good way to carry the very sharp screw.

Kind of pricey for a set of screws. Quality is there.
These are the screws to use from the company that makes the Kreg Pocket-Hole kit but you can save a ton of money if you use other no-name screws.These are quality screws and provide for a selection of applications. From hardwood to MDF and different thicknesses of wood. Once you learn the length of screw needed for the different thicknesses of wood and the thread type for the type of wood, you can then use no-name screws and save significantly compared to these over-priced screws.
