Great Sax for a great price
I tried many Tenor Saxophones before choosing this one. I tried Buffets, Selmers & others that were hundreds if not thousands of $$$ more and I found this Merano Sax to be the best. The sounds reminds me of a Yamaha Sax, bright & punchy. The notes bend beautifully. I've gotten so many wonderful sounds out of this horn & have really abused it playing live. My bandmates are thrilled that we have added this to our set up. I like it so much I went back and bought a Cello from crystalcello as well (which is also excellent) Great Tenor Sax !!! Thank you

great horn and great service
Solid horn especially for the price range!!! Great service... They don't have a phone number, but if you contact them via email, they will get back to you the same day.Intonation problems on a few notes, but nothing I wouldn't expect from a Tenor that's less than 300$... The keys feel good, the corks are great, pads are nice... As long as you take care of this horn, it will take care of you.I would definately buy again.

What's Not to Like?
Let's see....quality materials, clever design, compact size, easy to use, very affordable. Does this sound like a winning combination to you? I've owned almost every brand of saxophone stand on the market and this one is tops, hands down. Even the flute/clarinet peg, if you order one, has a soft covering so that your valuable instruments won't be marred. A saxophone player must have been involved in coming up with this stand because it does everything you want it to do and nothing that you don't want it to do. Well, it may not play a whole-tone scale but that's about the only thing it can't do! Buy it, you will be glad you did. Top to learn more

Compact and sturdy. This stand in great!
The Hercules alto/tenor sax stand is very well built and easy to use. All you have to do is unfold it and make sure that the metal pins are locked to secure it. I like the foam padding on the stand which protects the finish on saxophones. This stand doesnt appear to be as large as other stands I have seen in the past. The stand is compact so you can take it with you anywhere. A must for every sax player. Top to learn more

Coolest stand ever
I've had many stands over the years. Some don't fold real well, some had little parts that could fall off and get lost and some were just big. This baby folds like a champ, small and compact yet sturdy when set up. I would not waste my time trying to find something that's a couple bucks cheaper, this is the stand you want. Top to learn more

Sturdiest strap I have used & very comfortable
I have used several other straps in the past and one thing about them I didn't like is that the hook did not close completely. The hook was open at one end and I was always afraid my sax would fall off. This strap is different. The hook has a clasp and you can be assured your sax is securely fastened to the strap and will not fall off. Also the comfort is great. I can play a long time and my neck doesnt get tired. This strap is the sturdiest I have used and the extra padding around the neck is so comfortable. The length of the strap is also very easy to adjust whereas it has been difficult to adjust the length of other straps. In my opinion, every sax player should own this strap. You wont be disappointed. Top to learn more

A Necessity
This is the gold standard of neck straps. It is durable, comfortable, washable (very important), and affordable. The neck strap is the easiest thing to change when adjusting the comfort of playing. Any player would do well to have one of these on standby if not actively using. I've used one for 8 years and loved it. I recommend to all my peers and students. Top to learn more

Everone that has a sax needs this for sure!
My 9-year old son is playing the sax and taking lessons in school. He is really excited about learning everything he can and being a part of the band. We had bought him a sax online and it came with a pretty nice strap to hold it. Well, though the strap was nice, the sax weighs a lot and pulls on his neck and back while he practicing and playing the instrument. This is a problem since my son would play for a while and it would become more and more painful over time.We bought this strap, hoping it would relieve a little of the pain and help extend the time he could play and practice. I was shocked, the strap not only totally eliminated the stress and pain on his neck, it made the sax feel much much lighter and made it so my son didn't even notice there was any stress on his neck or back. This is a great product and high quality design and construction. It would be worth buying for anyone that plays a sax, even if you are not a young boy, but for kids it is... Top to learn more

Good for beginners
My younger son started playing the tenor sax this year. Rico Reeds was recommended by the teacher. So far, my son has not used up the first two boxes since he started playing 5 months ago. Of course, he burned through them faster at the beginning. Good quality, no defects in any of the reeds that we have found. Top to learn more
Nothing suits me better.
A lot of different reeds out there. A lot of mouthpieces and styles and personal preferences. You're pretty much obliged to go out and experiment, considering the old adage that the mouthpiece choice is more critical than the horn, and the reed more than the mouthpiece. (I'm not sure I believe that, but the "butterfly" aspect is appealing.) I play tenor pieces in the 7-7* range, and can find no reed more satisfactory than the old tried and true soft rico. A three pack seems just about right to get me through a few months without worrying about replacement. Top to learn more

Good starter reeds
I have always found Ricos to be acceptable beginner reeds for students in their first year or two playing. The reeds are fairly consistent, and the lower price means that breaking a reed is not too much of an expense for whomever is footing the bill for reeds (teacher, student, school, parent...). The provided plastic cases do a good job protecting the reed, as long as they are not pushed in too far. I usually move students to Rico Royal or Vandoran after their first full year or two. Many people wouldn’t really know the differences between the alto and tenor saxophones if they glanced at them from a distance but there is a big difference between them. This is the good news, the bad news is that good intonation (tuning) will be harder to achieve for the beginner, especially in the higher register. It make sense when you think of the size difference, a tenor sax in it’s original factory case is somewhat heavy to carry, making it very difficult for a small teenage girl to lug it home from school every day. Girls play alto and boys play tenor. For a small person, boy or girl it’s not a bad idea to start on the alto sax, it requires less air and the notes are closer together making it easier for small hands to control. When you are first starting out, the look of the saxophone that matters, rather than how it sounds that matters. Also recommended: Selmer Paris Mark VI. A new saxophone has special appeal. Sometimes it’s possible to even get a new saxophone at a very good price. Same thing applies to the baritone sax as far as being difficult to play in tune in the upper register, and the low register requires lots of air… it’s a big horn. Of coarse this is a generalization and if you’re small and dead set on playing a tenor sax from the get go then do it. Soprano or Baritone. The psychological effect of owning a new saxophone also can’t be underestimated. You know this saxophone is ready to play and has no wear, tear, or any defects on it at all.
